  • HVACR Technician
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians install, repair, maintain, and upgrade systems that control air temperature and quality in numerous settings and establishments. HVAC job growth is propelled by new construction and the need to retrofit or upgrade older systems as more energy efficient equipment is released and new safety and environmental regulations come into effect.* As systems become increasingly complex, formal training and proper certification are imperative for entering and advancing within the HVAC field.

    The Welding Specialist program from MIAT College of Technology provides the hands-on training, practical experience and industry support it takes to pursue a technical career.

    Welding program classes are interactive and led by dedicated school instructors with years of experience working with welding equipment in a professional setting. You’ll get the one-on-one attention and personal support to pick up new welding skills quickly and the first-hand technical knowledge to feel entering the workforce.   • Airframe and Powerplant Technician
    Truck Driving, Transportation, and Mechanics

    Airframe and Powerplant Technicians enjoy being part of one of the world’s largest and most dynamic industries. One reason college students from all over the U.S. come to our Michigan and Houston campuses to train for a career is to prepare for the field as it takes off.

    The Airframe and Powerplant Technician program can be completed in as little as 20 months.

    Due to the hands-on training and variety of technical skills obtained with Airframe and Powerplant Technician training at MIAT, graduates are prepared to pursue employment opportunities in both aviation and other technical career fields.

  • Wind Power Technician
    Truck Driving, Transportation, and Mechanics

    Wind turbine service technicians install, maintain, and repair the three major components of the turbine, including the tower, blades, and nacelle, on a regular basis. This is done by entering the turbine through the base of the tower and climbing a ladder or riding an elevator up through the tower shaft. Depending on the task at hand, wind turbine technicians may be suspended hundreds of feet in the air! When needed, it’s not uncommon for helicopters to raise wind turbine technicians up to the desired working height.
