  • Surgical Technology / Technologist
    Medicine and Health Care

    With an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology from The College of Health Care Professions, you will be prepared for entry-level employment as a surgical technologist. On the surface, surgical technologists assist surgeons in surgery, but really they do much more. Surgical technology encompasses roles and responsibilities in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of the surgical patient. In the preoperative phase, responsibilities range from preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring surgical equipment is functioning, and preparing sterile supplies and instruments using aseptic technique. As we enter the intraoperative phase, responsibilities shift to anticipating the needs of the surgical team, passing instruments and supplies using aseptic technique, and handling specimens. The postoperative phase shifts to include assisting in applying dressings to closed wounds, assisting with patient transfer, cleaning the operating room, and/or disinfecting and preparing instruments for sterilization.

  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography - AAS
    Medicine and Health Care

    CHCP’s accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Associate of Applied Science Degree will prepare you for an exciting career as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (also known as an Ultrasound Technologist) uses a transducer to emit sound waves across specific parts of the body. These sound waves echo and reflect back to the transducer to produce images (also known as sonograms) of the body’s interior. Sonograms are used to highlight internal issues that would not be seen otherwise. In order to be a successful sonographer you must be able to properly operate the ultrasound technology, display compassionate patient care, and embody professionalism at all times. After you complete your sonography training with The College of Health Care Professions, you’ll be prepared with the necessary knowledge and skills to get an entry-level job as an ultrasound sonographer.

  • Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist w/ MA skills - Certificate
    Medicine and Health Care

    Our Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist with Medical Assisting Skills program prepares you for a career as a limited medical radiologic technologist. As an LMRT (also known as a limited X-ray technologist), you will be responsible for performing limited-scope X-rays on the chest, extremities, skull, facial bones, and vertebral column. X-rays (also known as radiographs) are a form of radiation that can penetrate the body, creating images of the body’s interior.

    An LMRT is responsible for communicating with patients about the procedures, administering the X-rays, and producing an image that is diagnostically acceptable. Once the images are analyzed, they are sent to other medical personnel for diagnosis. After you finish your Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist with Medical Assistant Skills program at the College of Health Care Professions, you will be well-equipped to take the state licensing exam and begin your new career as a Limited Medical X-ray Technologist.

  • Pharmacy Technician - Certificate
    Medicine and Health Care

    With a Pharmacy Technician Certificate from the College of Health Care Professions, you will be prepared to begin your new career as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians are responsible for assisting pharmacists in duties like receiving and confirming prescription orders, assembling medicines, and providing information to patients about medications.   • Cardiovascular Sonography - AAS Degree
    Medicine and Health Care

    Cardiac Sonographers (also known as Echocardiologists or Echocardiographers) use ultrasound technology to create a specific type of sonogram, called an echocardiograph, of the heart. An echocardiograph is used to ensure the heart’s valves, chambers, and muscle contractions are all working properly and to illuminate any potential issues. The procedure may be performed when the patient is at rest or immediately following cardiovascular activity. After the 2-D images are created, the Cardiac Sonographer passes the imaging along to a doctor, who can then make an informed diagnosis. Once you complete your training in echocardiology with The College of Health Care Professions, you’ll be well-equipped to take the Cardiovascular Credentialing Exam and on your way to an entry-level position as an Echocardiologist.

  • Echocardiography
    Medicine and Health Care

    The Echocardiography Certificate Program can be completed in as little as 64 weeks. The Echocardiography course curriculum is designed for those with a foundation in patient care to train with us to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform adult echocardiograms under the supervision of a physician.

    An echocardiographer, also known as a sonographer or cardiac sonographer, is responsible for preparing patients for the procedure, operating and maintaining the equipment necessary to obtain images of the heart, analyzing echocardiographic data, documenting findings, collaborating with other medical professionals, and keeping up with the latest advancements in echocardiography. Depending on prior AAS degree specialty, the Echocardiography Certificate Program is also designed to help students prepare for the certification exams for Certified Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

  • Pharmacy Technician - Certificate (Online)
    Medicine and Health Care

    Our Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program offered online provides you the opportunity to obtain the education and training necessary to work as an assistant to licensed pharmacists in a variety of healthcare settings. The courses in this program will help prepare you to sit for certification exams offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National HealthCareer Association.

    Pharmacy technicians fill diverse roles, supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Pharmacy technicians are pivotal in retail chain pharmacies and integral to hospital pharmacies, but their expertise often qualifies them to work in other sectors, such as long-term care, nuclear medicine, chemotherapy, and specialty pharmacies. Some pharmacy technicians even work for health insurance companies and in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Nursing (LVN to RN) - AAS
    Nursing

    With an Associate of Applied Science Nursing Degree from The College of Health Care Professions, you will be able to advance your career in nursing by becoming a registered nurse (RN). RNs provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and advocate for patients and their family members. Registered nurses have a direct impact on patients’ lives and well-being, so it is imperative that they have a combination of hard and soft skills, including communication and emotional intelligence. Many may choose to become an RN after working as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN). The transition from LVN to RN is facilitated when students enroll in our program, as it is specifically designed as an LVN to RN Transition Program that utilizes a concept-based curriculum. Once you graduate with an AAS in Nursing from CHCP’s Nursing Program, you will be on your way to becoming a Registered Nurse.

  • Vocational Nursing - Certificate
    Nursing

    A Vocational Nursing certificate provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed vocational nurse. A vocational nurse (VN) provides patient care to residents of short-term and long-term healthcare facilities. VNs must receive licensure and become licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) to work in the field and work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or doctor. LVN duties include assisting patients in basic hygiene, monitoring patient vital signs, and providing preliminary nursing care. Licensed vocational nurses also provide emotional support for patients, so LVNs must be compassionate and caring individuals. With a certificate in Vocational Nursing from The College of Health Care Professions, you will be able to receive your vocational nursing license and enter the workforce as an LVN.
