Professional Truck Driver Training
Transportation & MechanicsIn the Professional Truck Driver Training program, you’ll go further than basic CDL training and build confidence in every part of the job. Training includes instructor-led lessons, video demonstrations, group discussions, and extensive behind-the-wheel practice. Students also complete a externship with a partner carrier, gaining real-world experience before entering the workforce. This externship also replaces the mandatory mentor driving required by most carriers.
The program includes additional truck time, giving you more opportunities to strengthen pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, and driving skills.
In addition to your Class A CDL, you’ll earn four endorsements that expand your trucking job opportunities:
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat)
- Tankers
- Doubles/Triples
- Passenger
DIESEL MAINTENANCE TRAINING
Another advantage of the Professional Program is the Diesel Maintenance Training portion. You’ll learn the fundamentals of diesel truck systems and develop hands-on maintenance skills that can be applied on the road or in the shop. Topics include:
- Air Systems and Air Brakes
- Tire Repair and Steering
- Electrical Diagnostics
- Drive Lines and Axles/Wheel Seals
- Truck and Trailer PMI
- Starting, Charging, and HVAC
This training can help you save money by maintaining your own equipment and opens the door to entry-level diesel mechanic jobs.
