Academy for Jewish Religion
The Academy for Jewish Religion California is a transdenominational institution dedicated to the training of rabbis, cantors, chaplains, and other Jewish community leaders. Its mission is to develop religious leaders steeped in Torah wisdom and tradition and capable of transforming Jewish communities into places where all Jews can grow toward spiritual wholeness and well-being.

Chaplaincy School
Liberal Arts, Humanities, and LiteratureThe goal of the Chaplaincy School is to provide a dynamic and supportive learning community in which students can deepen their Judaic knowledge and chaplaincy skills in order to be able to work in multi-dimensional chaplaincy settings. The program is three years, with Fieldwork and a Masters thesis among the requirements for certification. A Masters Degree in Jewish Studies as well as a certificate in Jewish Chaplaincy will be awarded upon completion of the program.

Cantorial School
Liberal Arts, Humanities, and LiteratureThe cantorial students master the melodies and chants for Jewish prayer, as well as contemporary sounds that resonate with today’s Jewish communities. They develop proficiency in all aspects of clergy life – education, counseling, and chaplaincy skills.
Upon completion of the program, graduates of the Cantorial School are ordained as “Hazzan and Teacher in Israel,” and receive a Master’s Degree in Jewish Sacred Music.

Rabbinical School
Liberal Arts, Humanities, and LiteratureThe rabbinical students develop proficiency in all aspects of clergy life – sacred texts, Jewish law, education, counseling, chaplaincy, and more. They learn from the wisdom and practices of all Jewish denominations, immersing their hearts, minds, and souls in a warm and nurturing community dedicated to mutual growth.
Graduates of the Rabbinical School are ordained as “Rabbi and Teacher in Israel,” and receive a Master’s Degree in Rabbinic Studies. The program generally requires five years of full-time study; part-time options are available.
