Florida Technical College was founded in 1962 to provide post-secondary training in specialized business fields. The main campus in Orland opened in 1962, followed by the Lakeland campus in 1990, and the DeLand campus in 1997. Classes began at the Kissimmee, Pembroke Pines, and Tampa campuses in 2011, and the Cutler Bay campus opened in 2015.

After 35 years of serving Florida’s educational needs, Florida-Technical College has merged with National University College (NUC), which until now had been a sister Institution. In addition, NUC brought two other colleges under its umbrella, The Digital Animation & Visual Effects (DAVE) School in Florida and IBC Institute in Puerto Rico, for a combined total of 28 campuses and 29,000 students in both Puerto Rico and Florida.

  • HVAC/R with PLC - Diploma
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    Spanish program offered only at the Kissimmee campus

    The HVAC/R with PLC Diploma Program offers students the technical and practical knowledge and skills to perform heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning maintenance, installations, and repairs. Students will also learn basic skills related to the programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Graduates from this program will be able to fill positions at construction firms, as well as residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning companies.

  • Electrical - Diploma
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    Spanish program offered only at the Kissimmee campus

    The Electrical Diploma Program prepares the student with technical skills and practical knowledge to perform installation tasks, services, and repairs in the electrical trade. Graduates from this program will be able to fi¬ll positions as an electrician helper for services and construction ¬firms in residential, commercial and industrial businesses associated with the electrical trade industry. Students are eligible for certification of completion for: OSHA 10 Training Course, NCCER Core Curriculum, NCCER Electrical Level 1, 2, and 3.

  • Welding - Diploma
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    The Welding Diploma program offers the technical and practical knowledge needed to interpret manufacturing and construction drawings, calculate measures, and bend, cut, grind, and weld ferrous and nonferrous metals. Students will learn shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, flux core arc, gas tungsten arc, and pipe welding. Students are eligible for certification of completion and membership for: OSHA 10 Training Course, National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Core Curriculum, (NCCER) Welding Level 1, 2, and 3, and American Welding Society (AWS) Membership.

  • IT with Emphasis in Cybersecurity - Bachelor's Degree
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    Offered at the Kissimmee, Orlando, Pembroke Pine campuses and Online

    The Bachelor Degree program in Information Technology with emphasis in Cybersecurity introduces students to a variety of topics, such as assessing the security vulnerability of computer and network systems, various computer and network safeguarding solutions, and managing the implementation and maintenance of security devices, systems, procedures and counter measures. As a graduate of the program, students will be prepared for an entry-level career as an information support analyst, junior ethical hacker, or network and security support analyst related jobs.

  • Esthetics - Diploma
    Cosmetology and Wellness

    The Esthetics Diploma Program provides students with knowledge of skin analysis, disorders, and treatments, as well as services such as facial care, microdermabrasion, and spa management. Upon completion of this program, students have the opportunity to obtain entry-level positions in the skin-care field. The Esthetics program is designed to prepare graduates for the Florida Facial Specialist Registration.

  • Culinary Arts - Diploma
    Culinary Arts, Food Service, and Nutrition

    Spanish program offered only at the Kissimmee campus

    The Culinary Arts Diploma Program offers students the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to obtain an entry-level position in the field. Students will gain hands-on knowledge of sauces, meats, and baked products. In addition, they will learn about kitchen safety and sanitation techniques to ensure food safety. Finally, they will cover management and supervision in the food service industry.

    Spanish program offered only at the Kissimmee campus

    The Baking and Pastelería Diploma Program offers students the theoretical and practical knowledge required to work in the industry. Students will learn to create, prepare, and attractively present a variety of stand-alone desserts, bread-based products, and common or special baking recipes, pastries, and sweets. Students are eligible to sit for the certification exams: ServSafe Food Manager and ServSafe Allergens.

  • Medical Billing and Coding Specialist - Diploma
    Medical Administration

    The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Diploma Program provide an essential service to the healthcare industry from a calm and comfortable office environment. Professionals in this field create and manage important medical documentation. This is one of the few medical fields that typically involves little or no direct contact with patients. Successful graduates of the FTC Medical Billing & Coding Specialist Diploma Program can enter the professional workforce in approximately 11 months! If you are looking for a professional office career that offers meaningful, rewarding work opportunities, medical billing and coding could be an excellent career path for you.

    The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Diploma Program will train students to obtain entry-level positions in healthcare administrative offices through a combination of clinical and administrative training. The program is focused on preparing students for certification. Students are eligible for certification for: (NCICS) National Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

  • Medical Assistant Technician - Diploma
    Medicine and Health Care

    The Medical Assistant Technician Diploma Program is designed to prepare students to obtain entry-level employment as medical assistant technicians. This program offers students the opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge and skills both in the classroom and in a supervised clinical practice. The students also learn how to prepare patients for various technical examinations, such as EKG’s and phlebotomies, as well as how to perform several such procedures. Students are eligible for certification for: National Certified Medial Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
