  • HVAC/R Service Technician
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    At Career College of Northern Nevada, you’ll receive the in-depth, hands-on training you need to succeed in the rapidly growing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field. HVAC Service Technicians provide comfortable home and office environments for customers of all sorts. Upon completion of the HVAC Service Technician program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the national EPA Section 608 certification exam. Within the HVAC courses program, you’ll take 9 months of HVAC Service Technician coursework, including:

    • HVAC/R Fundamentals
    • Electrical Theory and Application
    • Heating Systems
    • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems

  • Welding and Fabrication
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    At Career College of Northern Nevada, you’ll receive the in-depth, hands-on training you need to succeed in the growing field of welding and fabrication. At CCNN, you’ll learn the primary functions of a successful welding and fabrication specialist, which include:

    • Basic design and drafting skills using computer-assisted design and drafting software
    • Setting up equipment for welding aluminum plate and pipe
    • Development in metal and arc welding for stainless steel and stick metal arc
    • Manipulating basic mathematic functions

    Within the welding school program, upon successful completion of the training you will be able to:

    • Manufacturing tools and operations
    • Math for Manufacturing and Fabrication
    • Introduction to Welding
    • Print Reading
    • Computer Fundamentals for the Trades
    • Computer Assisted Design and Drafting

  • Facility Maintenance Technician
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    If you’re looking for a career with variety, the facility maintenance program from CCNN is a great option. Requiring a variety of skills, this job calls for everything from plumbing and electrical work, to welding and HVAC maintenance.

    The demand for skilled facility workers is expected to continue to grow as more robotics and automation technology are introduced into industrial facilities. Jobs in this field are available in everything from automotive factories to industrial manufacturing to food processing.

  • Medical Assisting
    Medicine and Health Care

    At Career College of Northern Nevada, you’ll receive the in-depth, hands-on training you need to succeed in the medical assisting field. Medical assistants work closely with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in both clinical and clerical roles, aiding in medical procedures and examinations, as well as performing medical office tasks as needed. Throughout the medical assisting program, you will benefit from real-world clinical experience by completing 160 hours in a medical assisting externship. Our medical assisting faculty will guide you in learning the primary duties of professional medical assistants, which include:

    • Taking patient history and measuring vital signs
    • Helping physicians and nurses with patient examinations
    • Giving patients injections as directed by the physician
    • Scheduling patient appointments
    • Preparing blood for laboratory tests

  • Clinical Medical Assistant
    Medicine and Health Care

    The Clinical Medical Assistant diploma program is designed to provide the students the knowledge and clinical skills for gaining entry-level employment in a medical facility. Specific training is provided in preparing instruments and materials, vital signs, phlebotomy, medication preparation and assisting the physician with exams and procedures. The student will be able to function independently with clinical duties in a medical office or facility. Training is provided for such occupations that include but are not limited to Medical Assistant and Lab Assistant/Office Lab Assistant (Phlebotomist).

  • Industrial Electronics Technology
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    Students completing the Industrial Electronic Technology program will possess the necessary skills to service and repair a broad range of electronic and computer controlled devices. The student is prepared in a wide spectrum of electronic disciplines including mathematics, basic electricity and electronics, solid state and digital device circuitry, microcontrollers and more recent technology such as robotics, wireless communication systems, fiber optics and C++ programming. Students will have the opportunity to sit for a national certification exam in soldering.
