  • Veterinary Assistant - Diploma

    When you enroll in Valley College’s Veterinary Assistant program, you will be preparing yourself for an exciting new career. Our qualified instructors come to class with real-world experience and a working knowledge of the field. Their skills will teach you how to become a Vet Assistant.

    In the Veterinary Assistant Program you can learn a variety of topics that include fundamental animal care procedures and practices, collection and preparation of laboratory samples, how to administer medication, key office procedures and medical records management procedures, client communication, preventative animal health care, animal behavior and restraint, veterinary medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and essential safety precautions and procedures in the veterinary workplace.     Students in the Veterinary Assistant program also have the opportunity to become nationally certified. Graduates of our program may choose to further their credentials by taking the Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) exam. This credential will add value to your diploma and allow you to demonstrate your qualifications to potential employers.

  • Medical Clinical Assistant - Diploma
    Medicine and Health Care

    The Medical Clinical Assistant Training Program provides the skills and training it takes to become a qualified healthcare professional. Graduates of this program are prepared to work in a variety of interesting medical environments including hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, and home health care.

    Using a blend of hands-on training, practical experience and guidance from real healthcare professionals, this program allows you to pursue a rewarding medical position, without spending years in school.

    • Computer Applications
    • Basic Medical Office Procedures
    • Anatomy & Physiology
    • Medical Records Management

    Plus, you’ll receive practical instruction in pharmacology and phlebotomy (drawing blood).

    As a successful graduate, you’ll feel confident and fully prepared to move into any Medical Clinical Assisting environment after gaining so much focused training and support during your program.

    Medical Assisting is a hands-on job. There’s no better way to learn than by actually working side-by-side with doctors and other medical professionals in a real healthcare setting.

    As a student in this program, you have the opportunity to complete a supervised Clinical Externship. Externships are an excellent way to get a feel for your new career, gain real-world job experience and make valuable industry contacts before you graduate.
