  • Economics
    Business & Management

Economics is the social science that analyzes the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services and aims to explain how economies work. Economics students learn how to think critically, solve problems, work with numbers, and a variety of other skills. Students pursuing economics gain valuable research experience that prepares them for graduate school or various careers in business. The coursework in the program also provides a strong grounding in economic theory, which helps open career opportunities that involve policy analysis.

  • Family Life Studies
    Human Services & Social Work

The family life studies degree is only offered online. This program is designed to prepare students for successful careers serving individuals and families across the life span and to help students achieve fulfilling family relationships in their own lives. Students learn how human development, family relationships, family economics, and consumer issues affect the individual and the family. This program has the same academic rigor as on-campus degrees, but is offered in an alternate format to serve a wide variety of students.

  • General Studies
    Liberal Arts & Communication

General Studies provides students the opportunity to pursue a personalized course of study. This allows students to explore and integrate academic offerings from across multiple departments, programs, and colleges.

  • Liberal Arts
    Liberal Arts & Communication

The liberal arts program helps students gain a basic understanding of the development of civilization, historical and cultural traditions, political institutions and processes, and develop an appreciation of fine arts and literature. Because it covers such a broad base, it develops the student's rational thought and intellectual capabilities in many areas.

  • Psychology
    Psychology & Counseling

Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes. The department is internationally known for its innovative research, teaching, and scholarship programs. Graduates are prepared for professions in mental health, research, education, and human service settings. Given that most career paths in psychology require graduate training, Utah State's psychology program is directed toward helping majors meet the prerequisites of competitive graduate programs and preparing them for research and graduate work in psychology.
