    The Customer Relations program increases your competitive advantage to engage customers to fill a need or solve a problem by practicing excellent customer relations in online or in person business environments. You will learn to improve customer care, loyalty and management through service mix, service-level decisions, formulation of service policies, and the development of staff. Core topics include communications, managing interpersonal relationships, and public relations to promote a positive company image and customer experience. You will develop communication techniques to deal with challenges and conflicts while serving both internal and external customers. Emphasis in business, computers, and communications provide a solid background for customer relations positions in the current business environment.

  • Nonprofit Administration
    Business, Marketing, and Communication

    The Nonprofit Administration Online Program offers students education and specific training in the field of nonprofit administration. These courses are offered entirely online and are designed for interested students as well as busy professionals working in the nonprofit sector. Practicing administrators and others interested in building skills relating to nonprofit administration are encouraged to register. The courses do not require specific meeting times. Students may elect to take one or all of the courses.

    The Cybersecurity Professional Certificate is designed for practicing system administrators and networking professionals looking to expand their knowledge in the domain of computer security by providing advanced experience in the areas of business continuity, computer system design, contingency planning, data integrity, risk assessment and mitigation techniques, security investigation, and troubleshooting. Students will apply security procedures used by IT professionals in access control, computer forensics, cryptography, enterprise security, information assurance, network security, software development security, and disaster recovery.

    Our online degree develops skills in a variety of media, and is one of the first to combine visual and applied arts. Student explore diverse courses such as design, film, painting, web production, printmaking, photo, data visualization and illustration.

    Design, Arts, and Architecture

    The School of Media Arts continues to lead the way in creating innovative educational experiences for students by offering the first fully online Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Montana. This degree enables students to maximize their creative potential through the study and artistic application of emerging digital technologies. It provides learning opportunities in interactive media, web and internet technologies, gaming, and a variety of digital design applications including sound, still image, motion, and animation.

    The CPH is geared towards:

    • those who currently work in a public health setting but may have no formal public health training
    • those who wish to update their public health training
    • those who work in related fields and wish to broaden their knowledge of public health issues and concepts

  • Forensic Studies
    Legal, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Services

    The Certificate in Forensic Studies is primarily designed as a step toward a baccalaureate degree for those interested in a career in the forensic sciences or a related field. It is also designed as an avenue for law enforcement agents, forensic scientists, or other professionals in the justice system to satisfy mandatory continuing education requirements for continued employment or promotion. It may also fill needs for personal enrichment and the satisfaction of intellectual curiosity among those with a non-vocational interest in forensic science. The curriculum design derives from ethnographic observations of forensic scientists and their work. The following observations about forensic scientists are relevant.

  • Wilderness Management
    Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Biology

    The certificate provides students and professionals with training and expertise in the key topics related to wilderness management. Courses cover the history and philosophy of the wilderness system, wilderness law and policy, wilderness recreation management, wilderness ecosystem conservation and resource monitoring, and wilderness planning. Taken together these courses provide the necessary foundation for students to pursue careers in wilderness management. Courses are offered via distance learning (online and correspondence) through the Wilderness Management Distance Education Program in the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation.
