The online concentration in Healthcare Leadership (HCL) provides a comprehensive exposure to the field of leadership with coursework in areas such as the healthcare environment, professionalism, leadership, business skills, and communication. The need for qualified healthcare administrators with leadership acumen and ethical fitness is significant, as these individuals are in great demand within the dynamic and complex healthcare landscape. Undergraduate students enrolled in the HCL program have multiple internship opportunities, in addition to completing a senior project. Upon graduation, students wishing to pursue more advanced coursework in related areas ( e.g., healthcare administration, public health, health promotion) can do so.

The Real Estate Concentration is designed for students who desire careers in real estate and related industries including mortgage banking, banking, real estate development, real estate investment, real estate valuation and assessment, government, as well as real estate sales and property management. The courses in this online program may also be used to obtain a Minor in Real Estate or a Professional Real Estate Certificate.

Program objectives for a B.A. in African and African American Studies are to:
- Define the term "diaspora" and describe the history, scope and impact of the post-Renaissance diaspora of African peoples
- Critique the experiences of African and African American women within the context of the collective experiences of Africans and African Americans and the world as a whole
- Apply methodological approaches and analytical skills used in the humanities, the social and behavioral sciences, or the arts to the study of the experiences of Africans and people of African descent in the Diaspora
- Demonstrate an understanding of the links between African cultural institutions and those of people of African descent in the Diaspora
- Compare and contrast the history and cultures of peoples of Africa to the history and cultures of peoples of African descent in the Diaspora.

Those students who wish to complete the degree completely online may choose either a concentration in African American Literature or Professional Writing. Students who choose the African American literature concentration will find engaging and challenging courses that emphasize close analytic reading skills and critical thinking. Students who choose the Professional Writing concentration will learn communication skills that prepare them for careers in dynamic fields such as business, publishing and technology. All students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Arts degree in English learn to appreciate the importance of the written word and develop skills which will lead to a life of community engagement and personal growth.
HistoryLiberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature
Online B.A. and M.A. program in History, courses taught by dedicated online instructors and tenure/tenure-track faculty, ranging from ancient to modern content, global in scope. Full range of courses are available to B.A. students, including internships, directed readings courses, and most of the courses currently offered in the undergraduate catalog. M.A. offerings broad in scope and scale, but currently the Egyptology concentration is not available online. All students receive comprehensive advising, including career counseling, graduate school workshops, and exposure to other professional development opportunities.

The Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies provides students the opportunity to tailor a degree program around a particular interest or career goal the other majors at the university do not meet. Working within a structured format, students select courses for their major from two distinct academic areas.

The online B.A. Political Science program of study provides University of Memphis students the option and opportunity to complete their coursework which best suits their schedules each semester. Political Science degree seeking students can take a combination of on campus and online courses or all online course options in the Political Science program to meet their degree requirements.

The Bachelor of Professional Studies with a major in Professional Studies and a concentration in Organizational Leadership promotes understanding of the nature of bureaucratic organizations and the fundamentals of administrative leadership. It allows students to reflect upon national and international organizational context and upon significant social and cultural issues raised in those contexts; and to promote skills in formal and interpersonal communication, including sensitivity to personal problems that have an impact upon the quality of work.
The Bachelor of Professional Studies with a major in Professional Studies and a concentration in Information Technology promotes understanding of the nature of and fundamentals of administrative leadership in the technological fields. Students will reflect upon national and international technological development and communication and the significant social and cultural issues raised in those contexts; and learn skills in information systems, statistical methods, formal and interpersonal communication, including team and organizational relations

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology is designed to achieve several broad objectives: to increase students' understanding of their cultural and natural worlds through greater familiarity with the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences; to enhance their skills in communication, quantitative analysis, and critical reasoning; and to prepare them to fulfill their roles as responsible members of their families, community and society.
