  • Class A CDL
    Transportation & Mechanics

    The Class A CDL Training Course is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the transportation industry. This course meets the Entry-Level Driver Training Requirements outlined in Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

    Training Breakdown:

    • Classroom Training: 40 hours at our Burlington, WA location.
    • Behind-the-Wheel Training: Flexible scheduling at either our Burlington or Ferndale, WA locations.

    Course Requirements:

    • Class A CDL: Necessary for operating vehicles with trailers over 10,001 lbs. and a combined vehicle weight of 26,001+ lbs., including truck/trailer combos, tractor-trailers, and tankers.

    Educational Components:

    • Classroom Instruction: 40 hours, including a 30-minute session on Truckers Against Trafficking.
    • Street Driving: 18 hours of behind-the-wheel street driving.
    • Backing Maneuvers: 16 hours of backing maneuver training.
    • Proficiency Training: 16 hours to develop driving skills.
    • Observation: 70 hours of observing experienced drivers.
    • Total Training Time: 160 hours, as per WAC 308-100-033 regulations.

    Certification:

    Upon successful completion of the course, students must pass a final skills test conducted by a State Examiner or an Authorized Third Party Examiner. After passing the skills test, students can apply for their Class A Commercial Driver License at a Washington State Department of Licensing Office.

  • B to A Upgrade
    Transportation & Mechanics

    The Class B to Class A CDL Upgrade Course is designed to provide students with the additional skills and education needed to advance to a Class A Commercial Driver License. This course meets the Entry-Level Driver Training Requirements outlined in Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

    Training Breakdown:

    • Classroom Training: *Not required.
    • Behind-the-Wheel Training: Flexible scheduling at either our Burlington or Ferndale, WA locations.

    Course Requirements:

    Class A CDL: Necessary for operating vehicles with trailers over 10,001 lbs and a combined vehicle weight of 26,001+ lbs, including truck/trailer combos, tractor-trailers, and tankers.

    • Street Driving: 18 hours of behind-the-wheel street driving.
    • Backing Maneuvers: 16 hours of backing maneuver training.
    • Proficiency Training: 16 hours to develop driving skills.
    • Observation: 30 hours of observing experienced drivers.
    • Total Training Time: 80 hours, as per WAC 308-100-033 regulations.

    Certification:

    Upon successful completion of the course, students must pass a final skills test conducted by a State Examiner or an Authorized Third Party Examiner. After passing the skills test, students can apply for their Class A Commercial Driver License at a Washington State Department of Licensing Office to add the Class A endorsement to their current Class B Commercial Driver License.

  • HazMat
    Transportation & Mechanics

    The Hazmat Endorsement Course is designed for those who wish to add the hazardous materials endorsement to their Commercial Driver License. This course meets the Entry-Level Driver Training Requirements outlined in Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and complies with Washington State requirements as per WAC 308-100-033.

    Training Breakdown:

    • Classroom Training: 16 hours of classroom education at our Burlington, WA location.

    Course Requirements:

    • Hazmat Endorsement: Necessary for transporting hazardous materials.

    Educational Components:

    • Classroom Instruction: 16 hours covering all necessary knowledge for the hazardous materials endorsement.

    Certification:

    Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the hazardous materials endorsement knowledge test at a Washington State Department of Licensing office.
