Our Welding Technology program teaches students welding processes that involve Fillet, Groove, Shield Metal Arc and MIG/TIG components along with advanced techniques used for pipe welding. The welding classes at Southern Technical College offers more than just the technical skills to become a welder.
Welding students are exposed to the necessary business and technology programs used in today’s current job market. Southern Technical College students gain the essential knowledge to operate, oversee and assist with various welding operations. Medical Assistant - Diploma
Medicine and Health CareThe Medical Assisting diploma program is designed to prepare students for positions as entry-level medical assistants in a physician’s office, or other medical facilities. This program focuses on providing instruction, through a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences, in the skills necessary to assist physicians in both the administrative and clinical duties of a medical facility. The program requires a minimum of 51 credit hours to be completed in approximately 10 months.

Surgical Technician - A.A.S.

This program is designed to prepare students to work as a surgical technician in a lifesaving team in a fast-paced, challenging setting, in several healthcare facilities including hospitals, medical centers and public or private surgical centers. Finish in as fast as 24 months, and be ready to take the certification exam in surgical technology given by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
