  • Electrical Trades Technology
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    The electrical industry is one of the most exciting fields in construction. The Electrical Trades program available at Southern Technical College is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills you will need to pursue a career in a number of different areas of employment.

    With a solid balance of classroom instruction and hands on training, students in the Electrical Trades program will learn to install, upgrade, repair and maintain various types of electrical systems. At STC, our laboratory provides hands on experience for you to learn wiring methods and techniques that simulate real world job conditions. Graduates from our Electrical Trades program have the skills and knowledge necessary to build a career as an electrician in the residential, commercial, industrial, maintenance and service fields.

  • HVAC Technician - Diploma
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    The 9-month HVAC diploma program is offered with the intent of preparing students for entry-level employment. The purpose of this program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the application of technology systems. The heating air conditioning and refrigeration technology (HVAC) program prepares students to install and service residential and light commercial air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems. This program is available only for individuals possessing one or more of the following: an academic associate's degree or higher or a recommendation from a sponsoring agency.

    The Associate of Science degree program in Applied Electronics Technology – HVAC Major – is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment to install and service residential and light commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems. The program is designed to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the application of HVAC systems. The program requires a minimum of 91.5 credits to complete.

  • Associate of Applied Science - Welding Technology

    Southern Technical College’s welding program in Auburndale, Orlando & Sanford offers an Associate’s Degree in Welding Technology. Our Welding Technology program teaches students welding processes that involve Fillet, Groove, Shield Metal Arc and MIG/TIG components along with advanced techniques used for pipe welding. The welding classes at Southern Technical College offers more than just the technical skills to become a welder.

    Welding students are exposed to the necessary business and technology programs used in today’s current job market. Southern Technical College students gain the essential knowledge to operate, oversee and assist with various welding operations. Upon graduation, with these new skill sets, students have an edge in today’s competitive workplace; where modern welding jobs are continuing to place emphasis on computer-aided manufacturing equipment and automated welding systems.

  • Medical Assistant - Diploma
    Medicine and Health Care

    The Medical Assisting diploma program is designed to prepare students for positions as entry-level medical assistants in a physician’s office, or other medical facilities. This program focuses on providing instruction, through a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences, in the skills necessary to assist physicians in both the administrative and clinical duties of a medical facility. The program requires a minimum of 51 credit hours to be completed in approximately 10 months.

  • Veterinary Assisting - Diploma
    Medicine and Health Care

    The diploma program in Veterinary Assisting is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as an assistant to a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician. The program will provide students with a foundation of knowledge in ethics and law, animal anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and animal care activities. Through hands-on learning, students will learn to keep medical and imaging records, offer client education, assist with nursing duties, prepare for surgeries, and assist in a routine exam. This program includes a clinical externship experience.

    Perform a diverse variety of tasks in customer/client service and education; front desk and clerical responsibilities; preparation of exam rooms; and assisting in areas of filling scripts, setting up lab work, and assisting with nursing and animal care. Veterinary assistants work under the supervision of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, through the establishment of standard levels of knowledge, practical experience, and skills.
