    Medical assistants play a critical role in the daily operations of doctor's offices, clinics and healthcare facilities.     In addition to the personal interactions, you may be responsible for administrative duties that include filing medical records, handling insurance forms and scheduling appointments.     Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists in many different types of retail locations, as well as hospitals. The scope of work for pharmacy technicians is constantly broadening. They mix and measure medication, maintain patient profiles, and handle insurance claims as well as receive prescriptions and take inventory.

    But maybe the most important part of a pharmacy technician's job is helping patients. As a Remington College instructor puts it, pharmacy technicians have "a direct link to making someone well."

    Pharmacy Technician Program Overview

    Remington College offers a combination of coursework, hands-on training and practical real-world pharmacy experience in the diploma program at one of 10 different locations across the country.

    As a student in the Pharmacy Technician school, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of drug interactions, medical abbreviations, and dealing with patients.

    Your pharmacy technician training will include a basic background in human structure and function, and you will have the chance to take courses in first aid, career development, and computers, as well as pharmacy law and ethics.

    Medicine and Health Care

    The Medical Office Administration diploma program from Remington College allows students to train in administrative procedures used in medical offices and other office settings.(1)Students practice organizational and office skills such as scheduling, medical records management, billing, coding and more. The Medical Office Administration program is designed to help students prepare for an entry-level position such as administrative medical assistant, medical office administrator or medical billing or collections specialist, all under the supervision of an industry-experienced instructor.
