MedCerts' medical assistant online program covers a wide range of skills and objectives that expand beyond the primary functions of a medical assistant. Responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients for testing, Phlebotomists must have excellent interpersonal skills. Phlebotomists can work in hospitals, blood donation centers, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, and other healthcare facilities.

The Certified Billing & Coding Specialist certification programs will teach you the skills needed to gather and review crucial patient information, verify patient information and documentation, audit billing, assign codes to procedures and diagnoses, submit reimbursement claims to insurers, and optimize healthcare providers’ maximum payment.

When you complete our program, you will be able to identify different insurance carriers and distinguish between their coverage policies. The programs will teach you the process of assigning diagnostic and procedure codes and how to submit 'clean' claims for reimbursement. Additionally, you will learn how to audit medical billing and prevent fraud and abuse. Lastly, the program provides training on how to work with healthcare providers to obtain the maximum reimbursement for medical procedures performed.
