Class A CDL
Transportation & MechanicsLorac Academy's core program is 160 hours of training completed in four weeks - about 50 hours in the classroom and lab, and 110 hours in the field behind the wheel. Students cover industry regulations, hours of service, vehicle systems, pre-trip inspections, and hazardous materials, then move into coupling, backing, shifting, and driving on city streets, highways, and mountain roads. The written exam comes after week one, and the road test is given on the final day by an on-site third-party examiner.
Class A and Class B tracks are both available, along with an 80-hour refresher for drivers who already hold a CDL. Students who can't attend full-time can choose weekend classes (8–10 weekends) or evening classes (8 weeks). Tuition runs roughly $4,000 all-in, including the DOT physical, drug screening, permit and license fees, materials, and the final road test. Room and board is available for out-of-state students, and financing and payment plans are offered.
