    Transportation & Mechanics

    As a Lone Star Truck Driving Academy student, you will learn:

    • Manual transmission truck training by driving on modern state of the art trucks
    • Map reading/ comprehension, trip reports and weights and cargo distribution
    • Defensive driver training to handle real world situations
    • Refrigeration theory
    • Coupling and uncoupling trailers, pre-trip inspections
    • Emergency situations such as braking, hydroplaning and skid avoidance
    • Driver wellness
