  • Manufacturing Production and Operations
    Building Systems, Construction, and Manufacturing

    The MPRO Program is a complete online degree designed to develop skills and knowledge of modern manufacturing processes. Manufacturing companies require skilled machine operators to produce high quality products. This program prepares students to become skilled production operators that can succeed in manufacturing environments. Students will be trained to understand the needs, processes, and activities used in today’s manufacturing environment.

  • Accounting
    Business, Marketing, and Communication

    The accounting program at Ivy Tech is led by CPAs with nearly 30 years of practical accounting and tax experience. Students will have the opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience by participating with the VITA office, which is a student-led professional office that e-files federal and state tax returns for taxpayers free of charge.

  • Business Administration
    Business, Marketing, and Communication

    The principles taught through Business Administration at Ivy Tech are threaded in all industries including non-profit business and education. Students will be creating marketing plans, budgets, building personal websites, simulations, case-studies and creating community connections. The Business Administration program also partners with many local businesses to give students the experience and exposure in the business world that they will need to be successful.

  • Entrepreneurship

    The Entrepreneurship Program at Ivy Tech offers students practical lessons in business start-up and management. Students have the opportunity to build interactive business plans, work through marketing ideas and talk with guest speakers and entrepreneurs. To date, the entrepreneurship program has assisted in the launching of many business ventures across Indiana.

    Through the Entrepreneurship program, students will gain insight into starting a new business or making their current business more successful. Additionally, the Entrepreneurship program partners with many locally owned independent businesses and nonprofit agencies that are dedicated to helping small business through education and mentoring.

    The Business Operations, Applications, and Technology (BOAT) Program prepares students for a career in any business setting. The BOAT curriculum has been improved to better prepare graduates for a career in all types of professional offices. Our students develop communication, organizational, leadership, and technology skills that prepare them for the high-tech, customer-focused, world-class work environment. Our students also develop proficiency in the latest Microsoft Office applications, and they will have the opportunity to earn certifications in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook that are recognized worldwide.

  • Computer Science
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    Computer Science is an exciting field that explores the limits of what computers can accomplish. It also spans many restraints and sectors of our economy, including science and research, industry, business and military. Coursework can include implementing and understanding properties of algorithms as well as discussing the social content of computing. This includes the history and evolution of machines, social impact of computers, and the code of ethics. A computer scientist can expect to enjoy a good salary, steady work, and opportunities to advance. Students in the computer science program should be ones that enjoy math, science, problem solving as well as new challenges.

  • Cyber Security/Information Assurance

    The program will build the foundation to identify and fix computer security attacks. The material covered in the program is designed for students with advanced computer knowledge or currently working in the computer industry. Cyber Security is a degree that can be applied to many facets of the student’s life, from personal to work experiences. There is a growing need for stronger Cyber Security with the increasing media attention.

  • Database Management and Administration

    The Database Management and Administration program prepares the students for this fast growing field which requires skills in organization, storage, integration, retrieval and analysis of data. They are trained in database designing, building, managing, system troubleshooting and report generation. Students are introduced to the significant tasks required of database administrators, the internal structures and architectures of database management systems, the implementation of data security and integrity measures, and the assessment of data usage and availability on the web and within internal business systems. Students will apply business rules to database applications, enhancing the practices of the company or organization for competition in today’s global economy and current technology.

  • Informatics
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    The field of informatics dynamically infuses information science and technology into the lives of people at work and play. It involves studying how people interact with computers to increase productivity and enhance communication. Students will learn to critically analyze approaches to processing information and develop skills to design, implement, and evaluate the next generation of information technology tools. It is a way to make a difference in the lives of others, so the focus of the program is on the social impact of computing – how people and technology connect. Students will study topics in information technology and information systems, completing their degree with a focus in areas such as health sciences, criminal justice, accounting, social sciences and others.

  • Information Technology Support
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    The ITSP program teaches students the knowledge and skills needed to build and maintain computing systems and their technology. It is designed to prepare students for a professional career in the computer technology field. This program walks through tearing down and rebuilding computers. It also has students work with customer support software and takes them through project management. This program is loaded with hands-on labs and the ability to receive necessary certifications. Students will also learn the skills needed to work with and support a wide range of customers. They will learn how to diagnose computer related issues and walk customers through resolving those issues.

    The Software development program prepares students to develop, test and maintain the software applications that people use everyday with their computers and other technical devices.

    The coursework involves a combination or practical programming techniques and problem-solving skills.

    This program prepares students to start a career in the fast changing world of information technology with practical knowledge and skills for an entry-level position in software development.

  • Supply Chain Management/Logistics
    Computer, Information, and Technology

    Ivy Tech’s Supply Chain Management program prepares students to enter the workforce with the skills demanded in industry. It addresses the movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, analysis and finished goods. Students are able to study and get familiar with the high technologies and information systems used to track goods and increase efficiencies.

    Students will receive short-term certificates that are designed for workforce preparation. They provide access to target training that will be on specific certification exams. Courses in the program also apply toward technical certificates and degree programs.

  • General Education Transfer Core
    Education and Human Services

    The Statewide Transfer General Education Core (STGEC) was developed in 2012, and enables a student who satisfactorily completes an approved program of general education in any one of those institutions to transfer that coursework to any other state educational institution as a block of 30 credit hours toward the general education core requirements. These courses meet the competency requirements identified by all state public higher education institutions. When an Ivy Tech student completes all requirements of the STGEC, the student’s transcript will note that the transfer core has been completed.

  • Criminal Justice
    Legal, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Services

    Criminal Justice instructors at Ivy Tech have real-world experience and are professionals in their fields. You may experience crime labs, court rooms, probation, community corrections, correctional facilities, jails, drug courts, investigative techniques that include physical evidence, psychological profiles, and cyber forensics as well as private and business security.

  • General Studies
    Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature

    The General Studies degree offers the student a solid core of General Education classes with the flexibility of additional elective courses of an individualized education plan. The General Education core of the degree provides broad exposure in composition, the humanities and sciences, mathematics, communication, and multicultural awareness. These courses are largely transferable to four-year institutions as required coursework toward a bachelor's degree.

    Students can construct their General Studies degree in conjunction with their individual career interests, educational goals, or other needs through the choice of elective courses to round out the degree. These elective courses are chosen by the student from many areas, such as business, technology, health care and other career-related areas offered by Ivy Tech. Students may also elect to continue with general education classes in preparation for transfer to bachelor's degree programs.

  • Library Technical Assistant
    Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature

    The coursework in this program introduces students to:

    • the history, purposes, and roles of the different types of libraries
    • library technical services (ordering, processing, copy-cataloging)
    • library public services (circulation, interlibrary loan, basic reference)
    • computer operations as they relate to library functions
    • other areas of interest, such as children’s service
    • on-the-job experience through the practicum in the LIBR 208 capstone course for the program
