As a welder, you’ll be trained to work in a variety of environments, including indoors, outdoors, in a workshop or factory, on the road, on a pipeline, up high on scaffolding or a stadium, in the ocean, or even on a race car team or cruise ship.

IMBC’s program can help welders at all skill levels succeed; from those just entering the field to seasoned veterans. Located at our Erie campus with 32 large welding bays stocked with a full suite of welding tools, you’ll be given hands-on instruction. Students will start with basic welding applications and then proceed to more advanced welding techniques, including mig, tig, pipe, and structural metal welding. Courses also include destructive and non-destructive testing and quality control to ensure that students have a thorough understanding of welding and its applications across a variety of settings. Our welding program includes safety training so that students become familiar with the safety procedures and regulations governing welding and welding environments.

The welding technology program does not require an internship. However, IMBC partners with global organizations, such as the American Welding Society and Lincoln Electric to bring a high-quality welding experience to each student.

Marketers and managers are an important part of the business landscape for many types of organizations, helping them grow, create new sales opportunities, and improve operations. Entry-level marketers and managers perform a variety of tasks, ranging from helping with social media and assisting with campaigns for sales growth, to analyzing reports on financial performance, managing customer relationships, and more.

The Business Administration – Sales & Customer Service program focuses on customer service, communication, the art of sales, call center practices, eCommerce, trends in shopping, product branding, social media sales, and ethics in the workplace. Sales and Customer Service courses are taught to prepare the student to be a specialized, yet well-rounded employee and to prepare the student to understand and apply current sales and customer service strategies.

Graduates may find entry level employment in retail sales, territory sales, insurance sales, business development, customer service roles, call centers, manager trainee, and various other sales and customer service positions.

From interviewing witnesses to filing documents, performing research to assisting lawyers in trial preparation, paralegals play a vital role in legal system. IMBC’s Associate in Specialized Business (ASB)– Paralegal program can equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to get started in this exciting field.

Veterinary technicians assist veterinarians with a wide variety of procedures and tasks, typically at veterinary hospitals and clinics. That means you’ll be supporting veterinary doctors with lab procedures, exams, and animal care. You’ll also work with pet owners and animal care providers to provide education and guidance for proper care and treatment, based upon the doctor’s instructions. Your patients might include exotic animals, birds, large animals, and household pets, such as cats and dogs.

MAs perform a wide variety of functions, depending on the type of office they work within. Administrative duties might include supporting, scheduling, and communicating with patients; documenting vitals; billing; and general office management.

At the same time, MAs may have clinical responsibilities, such as taking vital signs; explaining procedures; preparing patients for exams; taking medical histories; and helping doctors and nurses during procedures, such as lab work collection, administering medications, authorizing pharmacies to refill prescriptions, performing diagnostic tests, changing dressings, managing equipment, and more.

As an MA, you may also have phlebotomy tasks, such as drawing blood samples from patients to test for illness and health conditions. Depending on where you work, you may also be entering patient, specimen, and insurance information into billing systems; organizing blood-drawing trays; and taking inventories of, and sterilizing equipment.

Toward the completion of your program, students participate in an internship that lets you practice your new skills in a real healthcare setting with professional supervision.

Nurses perform a vital role in the American healthcare system. From measuring vital signs to giving injections, administering medications to assisting physicians with procedures, they’re the heart and soul of the medical field. Get started in this rewarding field by earning your Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree in Practical Nursing at IMBC.

In this program, you will build a strong foundation for working in medicine as you master the fundamentals of nursing, including anatomy and physiology. You’ll learn how to assist with care throughout the life cycle and care for patients from infancy to the geriatric stages of life.

Medical office administrators perform a wide range of administrative activities, such as organizing files, preparing documents, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, and collecting payments. Additionally, you may be responsible for helping order supplies, assisting staff with various office functions, handling mail, and recordkeeping.

You may work with patients to record their medical histories, assist with arrangements for services such as hospitalization, or process insurance payments.

This online training program will teach you to perform these administrative and clerical skills so that you can contribute and support a medical office in a meaningful way.

The 48-week program does not require an internship or practicum and can be completed entirely online. Additionally, there is no certification required to work in this field so you can get started immediately upon graduation. The healthcare and health insurance industries generate an enormous number of medical and patient records. In a medical billing and coding career, you are responsible for classifying individual diagnoses and medical procedures for billing and reimbursement purposes with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and PCS codes. You’ll typically work in an office environment at a computer workstation reviewing electronic healthcare records (or EHR).

You’ll learn about medical terminology and the reference codes used for reimbursement between the doctor’s office or hospital and the insurance companies. You’ll also study office management, computer basics, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology. Students in this program will receive hands-on training in medical billing software and in the completion, submission, and claims resolution techniques for CMS-1500 and UB04 forms.
