  • Medical Insurance Biller & Coder
    Healthcare Administration

More people than ever have access to health insurance and are using health care services today. As the aging population grows, the number of individuals with health insurance will also continue to climb. As a result, there is an increasing demand for trained Medical Insurance Billers and Coders who can organize and manage health care information.

Medical Insurance Billers and Coders and other health information technicians are tasked with documenting the health information for a patient, including their medical history, any symptoms, test results, and treatments, along with any additional information about health care services the patient received. Their responsibilities often depend on their employer and on the size of the health care facility in which they work.

Every day, more people are in need of health care services—which means there are more career opportunities in the health care industry than ever before, too.

Central Service Instrument Technicians (also known as central service technicians, sterile processing technicians, sterile preparation technicians or surgical equipment technicians) offer crucial support in patient care services and in processing, cleaning, and dispensing medical equipment and instruments in hospitals and other medical centers. Not only are they tasked with being familiar with all of the tools used in an operating room, but they must also sterilize and package instruments used during surgery.

Surgical Technologists (also known as surgical techs, operating room technicians, and OR techs) assist in surgical operations, preparing operating rooms and helping surgeons, nurses, and doctors before and during surgical procedures.

Graduates of this program earn their Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree and are qualified to work in surgical centers, delivery rooms, and medical clinics and may be employed as a member of an operating room team.
