Florida School of Traditional Midwifery

FSTM is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation organized under Florida law, licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education and accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council. We offer direct-entry midwifery education that is rooted in evidence-based practice and inspired by the historical traditions of past midwives.

Graduates of our program will receive a diploma from FSTM and are able to sit for the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) national licensure examination. Upon passing this exam, graduates are eligible to become licensed by the Florida Department of Health to practice as Licensed Midwives (LM) in the state of Florida. They are also eligible to become nationally certified through NARM as Certified Professional Midwives (CPM). We believe that every person should have access to the maternity care provider of their choice and to the information necessary to make informed decisions. Classes are only available on campus. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
