    Building & Construction

    Florida Academy’s Electrical Technology program is a nationally accredited, hands-on course designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the electrical industry. By combining classroom theory with real-world practice using modern tools, the program equips students to handle construction installation, facility repair, and maintenance. Graduates gain the technical expertise needed to operate and repair complex systems, ranging from residential and commercial power wiring to industrial motors and distribution panels.

    This course introduces the student to topics necessary as a foundation in skilled trades and electrical. Topics include basic safety, OSHA 10-hour safety, and Electrical fundamentals.

    The Electrical Basics course includes elemental to Electrical training. Topics include:

    • Electrical Currents
    • Electrical theory
    • Circuit breakers
    • Device/Junction boxes
    • Conductors
    • Grounding
    • Fitting
    • Control Systems
    • National Electrical Code ®

  • HVAC/R Technician
    Building & Construction

    Florida Academy’s HVAC/R Technology program in Fort Myers offers a nationally accredited, hands-on path for students looking to enter the workforce quickly. Moving beyond traditional textbooks, the program emphasizes practical experience by having students work directly with industry-standard equipment from brands like Carrier, Bryant, and Lennox. Under the guidance of professional instructors, students master essential field skills such as wiring high- and low-voltage lines, soldering and brazing, and maintaining systems ranging from residential air conditioners to commercial RTUs. To bridge the gap between graduation and employment, the academy also provides dedicated job placement assistance.

    Florida Academy’s HVAC/R Technology program is focused on providing hands-on training in simulated real world environments. In this program students will can expect to learn:

    • Learn traditional HVAC/R fundamentals from experienced instructors
    • Learn green technology
