Pre-Veterinary Medicine
Medicine and Health CareThe curriculum for pre-veterinary medicine leads to a BS degree and prepares students for admission to schools of veterinary medicine. Students enrolled in this program should plan to take the Veterinary College Admission Test (VCAT) at least a year in advance of entry to veterinary school.
In addition, most veterinary schools recommend that students also have a broad educational background. Therefore, they are advised to take additional courses in biology (animal biology and biochemistry), chemistry, humanities, and social and behavioral sciences. At Faulkner University these requirements can be met by completing 130 semester hours in the degree plan.
