Delaware State University
DSU enjoys a long history as one of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Founded in 1891 as the State College for Colored Students, DSU is proud of their heritage as one of the country’s first land-grant educational institutions. Today, they'’re a welcome center of learning for students from many backgrounds. The current population includes a 63% African-American enrollment and an increasing number of Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian and other international students. Classes available on campus as well as online. Financial aid available to those who qualify.

Pre-Veterinary Science
Healthcare & MedicalDelaware State University’s Pre-Veterinary Science degree provides outstanding preparation for careers in veterinary medicine, animal health, and related fields. The Pre-Veterinary Science program covers the fundamentals of animal health, nutrition, genetics, and biology. In addition, Pre-Veterinary students work directly with animals via Delaware State’s demonstration farms, extension programs, and research initiatives, getting hands-on experience with the most current technologies and methods in the discipline.
As a land-grant institution, Delaware State has been at the forefront of agricultural education, research, and science for more than 100 years. There is no better place to get a degree in Pre-Veterinary Science.
Students in the Pre-Veterinary Sciences program have the opportunity to develop professional skills and contacts by working with real-world problems through the College of Agriculture’s research and extension programs. With adequate grades, experience and performance, they will be prepared for entrance into veterinary school.
