These skills will enable a graduate to assume responsibility without direct supervision, display initiative, exercise judgment, and prepare business communications documents

    The Sport & Exercise Studies (formally Sports & Fitness Management) program was developed and initiated in 1992 to meet the varying needs of the recreational community in central Ohio. As we near 25 years of service to the Columbus community, the emphasis in the program is placed on real work situations, hands-on training, and a strong theoretical base on which to derive decisions about career choice and direction.



    Customer service is the core of the program. Meeting the needs of a varying student population diverse in gender, race, socio-economic status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, religious background, and educational level is a goal of the faculty in the SES program. In turn, instructing students to meet those same needs in the larger society is our challenge to the Sport & Exercise Studies student population.

    The Environmental Science, Safety and Health program was established to provide the skills necessary for a variety of careers in the environmental industry and safety profession. The curriculum is very broad with many courses emphasizing environmental science, engineering and regulations. Selected classes in the program also offer opportunities for individuals seeking career changes, continuing education and skills enhancement.
