  • Business Administration
    Business, Marketing, and Communication

    Through close, working relationships with peers, instructors and mentors, we extend a spectrum of unprecedented circumstances for you to develop proficiency in interpersonal communication as well as business intelligence. This philosophy encompasses each aspect of our educational approach, from the information engagement stage to our dynamic internship program, nationally recognized service-learning programs, and the Hogan entrepreneurial program that mentors students into successful business leaders. The depth of personal interaction that you will engage in is a distinctive characteristic of the Chaminade business program.

  • Management
    Business, Marketing, and Communication

    Management students gain an understanding of the functions that make organizations run effectively (accounting, finance, marketing), as well as the composition (structure and culture), human resource management systems, and leader behavior influence the effectiveness of individuals, groups, and systems at work. Students broaden their awareness of the economic, social, and political issues that impact management decision-making.

  • Early Childhood Education
    Education and Human Services

    This program prepares candidates interested in working with young children ages 2 1/2 through six years in private schools and other educational environments. The Early Childhood Education (ECE) major is aligned with NAEYC standards and Hawaii state registry requirements for ECE. Prior to taking any early childhood courses, it is required that the student take the one credit, ED 101 Introduction to Chaminade Early Childhood Education course.

  • Elementary Education
    Education and Human Services

    Upon completion of the Elementary Education degree program, graduates are licensed to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade. Chaminade follows licensure guidelines set by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.

    Chaminade graduates are qualified to teach in most states upon completion of the program. All Chaminade University education licensure programs are approved by the Hawai’i Teachers Standards Board.

  • English
    Education and Human Services

    The English program nurtures students’ creative, critical, and analytical abilities with regard to poetry, fiction, drama and nonfiction. In so doing, the program develops students’ appreciation of writing as an art form, providing the opportunity to explore and examine the full range of human experience. The objectives of the program leading to a Bachelor of Arts with an English major are to prepare students for graduate or professional studies and careers that demand a sound background in literary studies, analytic reading, and writing skills.

  • Secondary Education
    Education and Human Services

    Upon successful completion of the Secondary Education degree program, graduates are licensed to teach grades 6 through 12 in their licensure core content area (English, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies). Chaminade follows licensure guidelines set by the Hawai‘i Teacher Standards Board. Chaminade graduates are qualified to teach in most states upon completion of the program. All Chaminade University education licensure programs are approved by the Hawai‘i Teacher Standards Board.

  • Criminology & Criminal Justice
    Legal, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Services

    This well-respected program is the largest and most established criminal justice program in Hawai`i. The program is designed to prepare the undergraduate student for entry into a number of career positions in administration, criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, and public safety, including positions at the federal, state and local level.

  • Historical & Political Studies
    Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature

    Historical and Political Studies prepares students for careers in law, government and education. The program promotes intellectual, social and personal growth in the liberal arts tradition. It is also committed to the civic and moral development of students in the Marianist tradition. The program pays special attention to multicultural perspectives of Pacific and Asian communities, as well as those of minority groups within United States.

  • Liberal Arts
    Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature

    Liberal Arts is an interdisciplinary program that requires students to takes courses in English, Literature, Mathematics, History, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Religion, Philosophy, Natural Sciences, and Global Awareness. This degree provides students with a well-rounded education for successful continuation in a baccalaureate degree program.

  • Psychology
    Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Literature

    The Chaminade psychology program recognizes that many students in this program have the end goal of helping others lead happier, more fulfilling lives. To provide the necessary perspective and maturity, the Chaminade program emphasizes the development of the whole person: mental, behavioral, emotional, and spiritual.
